Dr. Daniel Sheehan
Dr. Sheehan is double board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology. He is also the Dermatopathologist and Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery at The Georgia Health Sciences University where he helps train some of the brightest of the next generation of dermatologist. Dr. Sheehan is an award winning physician selected by his fellow physicians as one of the "Best Doctors in America", an award given to the top 5% of physicians in the United States. Daniel J. Sheehan MD, FAAD is one the the most trusted der matologists in Augusta, GA. Raised in Columbia County, he went to Duke University, where he majored in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he went to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, and he completed an internship in internal medicine at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed his dermatology residency at the Medical College of Georgia, where he was the chief resident in his final year. After staying on as an assistant professor in dermatology for a year at MCG, he completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Daniel J. Sheehan, MD, FAAD is board certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the International Society for Dermatopathology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He has received numerous awards, including the Raymond Lublin M.D. Award for the most academically outstanding premedical student at Duke University in 1997.
